NOL

About the project

NOL was a betting platform that used blockchain technology. The product combined a Next.js web application with backend services built in FastAPI, Python, and NestJS.

As far as I know, it was never released.

My part

I worked across the web and backend parts of the platform while at Swovo, formerly Flatirons. It was the kind of client project where understanding the boundaries between services mattered as much as implementing an individual screen or endpoint.

The blockchain side was technically interesting, but I was never particularly interested or invested in the betting side of the project. I did the work professionally, but I did not feel much of a connection with what the product was trying to do.

This was one of those projects that made me think more seriously about wanting to work on things that add real value, or at least on things I am passionate about. Not every project needs to be a personal mission, but spending so much time building something makes it very obvious when you care about the result and when you are mostly interested in solving the technical task in front of you.

What remains

There is no public product page or store listing that I can verify. The cover is original artwork made for this portfolio and is not a screenshot from the project.
