About the project

Nomad is a travel healthcare job platform. The mobile app helps clinicians explore jobs and manage parts of the process around their assignments.

I worked on the React Native application while at Swovo, formerly Flatirons.

My part

I contributed as a senior mobile engineer, working on the production app and the engineering systems around it. At Swovo I was often the React Native specialist, helping with cross-platform decisions, native issues, code reviews, and the standards used across mobile projects.

Part of my broader work at the company was Mobile DevOps: Dockerizing development environments, creating CI/CD pipelines with Fastlane, documenting workflows, and automating repetitive steps. Those practices were especially useful on a long-running mobile product where consistency matters to everyone who joins the team.

Working with a client team

The engineering work was also communication. I worked with clients, designers, stakeholders, and other developers to understand what needed to be built and how it could fit the existing product.
