About the project
Casa de los Vitrales was a museum-style VR experience built with React Native and Google Cardboard. It gave people a way to explore the historic space through a phone placed inside a simple VR viewer.
The app was released and later taken down. I cannot find a surviving store page or screenshot now, which is honestly sad because it was a cool project for the time.
My part
I built the mobile experience as a freelance developer. The project combined a React Native application with the constraints of Google Cardboard: splitting the view, responding to the phone’s orientation, and making navigation work when the person cannot use the screen like a normal app.
Mobile VR was still a strange and interesting space. The hardware was simple, but that simplicity forced the interface to communicate through motion, gaze, and a very limited set of interactions.
What remains
I do not have proof of the original app listing anymore. The cover on this page is a current public photo from the Casa de los Vitrales website. It represents the place, not the missing application.
