Humano Employee App

About the project

The Humano employee app is an internal mobile application distributed publicly for employees of Humano Seguros. I worked on it through ENFOCO as a freelance mobile developer.

My part

I developed the React Native application and supported it for a long time. I built features, fixed bugs, and contributed to UI and API design decisions so that the mobile experience and the services behind it could evolve together.

The relationship continued beyond a single delivery. During my last moments as part of the team, an important part of my job was training React Native developers so they could take over once I was gone. That meant sharing the context behind the code, reviewing their work, answering questions, and helping them become comfortable making decisions without depending on me.

A handoff is not complete just because another person can run the project. They need enough understanding to debug it, change it, and know where the dangerous parts are. Leaving the team in a position where they could continue was part of finishing my work responsibly.

Working with an internal audience

An employee app is still a product. The audience may be inside one organization, but the same things matter: it should be understandable, reliable, and respectful of the person’s time.
